Savannah Technical College - STC

Savannah Technical College is seeking a Part-time Continuing Education/Business and Industry Instructor for Heavy Equipment Operator Training. This part-time position is responsible for the teaching non-credit instruction and evaluation of student progress in obtaining goals and objectives in heavy equipment operation. This position will report to the Business and Industry Manager.   

 

Responsibilities (this list is not intended to be exhaustive)

  • Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction and obtains or prepares instructional materials for classrooms use
  • Developing program and course outlines, goals, and objectives
  • Evaluating students’ ongoing progress and performance in attaining goals and objectives
  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment
  • Maintains program certification requirements
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
  • MC and conferences and by reading professional literature in the related technical field
  • Maintains a secure classroom environment
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Skill in interpersonal relations
  • Ability to adapt instructional material to fit all learning styles
  • Ability to maintain accurate records
  • Knowledge of effective instructional methods for adult learners
  • Knowledge of community needs within Service Delivery Area                         

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five years work experience in various Heavy Equipment Operation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA Certification(s)

Physical Demands:

The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight.  Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. 

 

Salary

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Positions are contingent upon funding.
