Community Outreach Coordinator
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) is responsible for supporting agency efforts by working with community partners within the CCR&R Southeast Region service area. The COC will provide training and information sessions to community partners such as chambers, coalitions and school systems to focus on the importance of access to high quality child care and the effect it has on school readiness.
This is a grant funded position
Responsibilities
- Develop and expand regional hubs to support workforce development and credential attainment to include, but not limited to, supporting systems to strengthen existing early childhood articulation agreements among technical colleges and four-year colleges that support professionals moving from a certificate, diploma, two-year and four-year degree
- Develop and expand regional hubs to support increasing the supply of high quality care for target audiences, such as infants and toddlers or children with disabilities
- Support DECAL and partners in recruiting for grants, initiatives, and other funding opportunities
- Provide strategic support for child-and-family serving non-profits and other community organizations to build capacity in improving outcomes for young children and their families to include building community awareness of the importance of early care and learning and better developed community networks for sharing information and resources across the early childhood system along with school-age care
- Gather and analyze data to determine avenues for improving outcomes ECE credential attainment, supporting workforce development and access to high quality child care
- Provide community organizations with linkage to data, presentations, articles, and other research that will support improving outcomes ECE credential attainment, supporting workforce development and access to high quality child care
- Maintain the agency website and social media engines collaboratively with Assistant Directors
- Assist in the planning and organizing of regional conferences/events when community outreach is a focus
- Via phone, at community partnership meetings, or at marketing events, provide information about the agency services and Bright from the Start
- Provide regular updates to CCR&R management team regarding progress of work
- Keep abreast of policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact project initiatives
- Conducts regular evaluation of services provided and makes recommendations on future director of project goals
- Maintains excellent working relationships with and serve as a liaison to internal and external customers
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions for supervising agency
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Services, Family and Consumer Sciences or Early Childhood Education
- Knowledge and experience in the field of Early Care and Education field and an understanding of Georgia Child Care Regulations
- Demonstrate superior interpersonal skills in order to work with community and state agencies on behalf of CCR&R, families and child care providers
- Demonstrate understanding of independent and collaborative project management
- Ability to break larger tasks in manageable smaller tasks
- Oral and written communication skills
- Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
- Skill in accurate recordkeeping
- Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office include Word, Excel and PowerPoint and experience in marketing via social media
- Organizational skills
- Skills in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to present proof of insurability
Preferred Qualifications (In addition to Minimum Qualifications)
- Master's Degree in Business, Human Services, Family and Consumer Sciences, Early Childhood Education or Adult Education
- Three (3) years combines experience in adult education and early childhood education
- At least one (1) year experience in community partnerships
Physical Demands:
The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight. Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various setting.
Salary/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
