Driver's Safety Community Coordinator - Single Vacancy Full Time (Grant Funded)
Savannah Technical College is seeking a Driver's Safety Community Coordinator to provide support to the Director of The Coastal Georgia Center for Highway Safety in the delivery of educational services. The role will primarily cover Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty Counties, necessitating travel within the service delivery area of Savannah Technical College. The position entails up to 40 hours of work per week (to include some weekends) and is contingent upon the receipt of grant funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assimilate into the community and serve as a liaison for the Director
- Engage with local high schools, Parent University, the community, and stakeholders
- Conduct training, gather survey data, and deliver monthly reports to the Director
- Collaborate with the Director to train high school students and staff, as well as the community, in the use of driver's training goggles and simulators
- Address inquiries, input data from forms, records, reports and provide administrative support
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum age of 21
- Possession of a valid driver's license and insurance
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience
- Proficient in oral and written communication
- Strong organizational skills
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with the public
- Proficiency in operating office equipment
- Capability to provide instruction to others on the use of training equipment or processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in motor vehicle driving instruction/training and driver's education is advantageous
- Experience in motor vehicle driving instruction should encompass a combination of classroom, driving range, and over-the-road instruction for safe vehicle operation
- Previous POST EVOC training and teaching experience is highly valued
Physical Demands:
The employee occasionally lifts or moves objects of a light to medium weight, up to 50lbs. Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.
Salary/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
