Workforce Development Grants & Strategic Populations Assistant Director

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their fulltime Grants and Strategic Populations Assistant Director position in the Office of Workforce Development. The Grants and Strategic Populations Assistant Director supports the Director in administering and overseeing initiatives, grants, and services related to strategic populations, as identified under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). This role includes responsibility for managing program staff, assisting in budget development, strategic planning, and delivering technical support to stakeholders. The position plays a critical role in managing and advancing Title I strategic populations team as well as youth services for Title III.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the development and implementation of programs and grants related to strategic populations under WIOA.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal policies, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations impacting department initiatives.
• Assist with the development of grant applications, budgets, reports, and evaluations, making adjustments to meet objectives.
• Assist in providing leadership and direction to program staff, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Monitor employee performance, conduct evaluations, and maintain a cohesive, well-functioning team.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to enhance partnerships and support program success.
• Assist in Developing and implementing program evaluation strategies to track and improve program performance and processes.
• Work with staff to streamline processes and maintain a fully integrated, efficient department.
• Assist in approving expenses, leave requests, and other administrative documents in compliance with established policies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of relevant experience in grants management, program administration, or a related field.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of WIOA Title I and Title III.
• Experience in grant writing, federal grant monitoring, or program evaluation.
• Experience managing teams and providing customer service to diverse populations.
• Familiarity with strategic populations under WIOA
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with office and job-related software.
• Interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service and stakeholder engagement.
