The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is the state agency that focuses solely on policies, programs, and services for people with mental health challenges, substance use disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, or any combination of these. As Georgia’s public safety net, DBHDD operates six field offices and five hospitals throughout the state within three program areas: behavioral health, developmental disabilities and hospital services.
The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta.

Job Description
Job Title: Incident Management Analyst- Hourly
Pay Grade: TPW
Job Summary:
Conducts reviews of incidents for individuals served in our community to determine risk and needed referrals. Acts as subject matter expert in specified area (nursing, behavior, social work, counseling, IDD services, etc.). Provides support to incident management functions, provider reviews, investigations, and corrective actions. Functions as a resource within the Division of Strategy, Technology, and Performance based upon the critical needs at any given time.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct clinical reviews of incidents and determine appropriate evaluation of risk and needed referrals.
Navigate multiple sources of data to inform decisions.
Utilize critical thinking to generalize information across variety of scenarios to make educated and accurate decisions.
Act as subject matter expert in field of expertise (nursing, behavior, social work, counseling, IDD services, etc.).
Complete accurate, thorough and timely entry of data into multiple databases.
Communicate effectively with providers and other stakeholders, including other DBHDD offices and divisions.
Maintain working knowledge of all policies and provider manuals relevant to the work.
Represent DBHDD professionally during all interactions with providers and stakeholders.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of related experience OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of experience, Two years of which in a position directly related to the area of assignment OR Two years of experience required at the lower level Complnc Specialist 2 (RCP061) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require a certification or licensure. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or master’s degree in psychology, behavior analysis, social work, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, or a related field
- Experience working with the Intellectual/Developmental Disability population in a capacity that affords in-depth knowledge of the population and its strengths, challenges, and needs.
- Knowledge of DBHDD behavioral health and/or developmental disability services
- Two years of experience with incident management within behavioral health and/or developmental disability services
- Exceptional computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong and effective time management skills
