The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security. Managed network services include the state’s wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services.

JOB SUMMARY:
The HR Coordinator is responsible for routine technical/administrative tasks for the Human Resources and Facilities & Assets department. Performs various tasks to include but not limited to; assisting with recruitment, onboarding new employees, maintaining employee personnel records, processing position/payroll transactions, assisting with employee benefits, triage employee inquiries related to HR policies, drafting employee letters, and coordinates purchasing/procurement for department. The HR Coordinator acts as a key point of contact for the department.
This position reports to the Director of Human Resources but will support the HR Leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment Support:
- Participate in job fairs or recruitment events.
- Coordinate interview schedules with candidates and hiring managers.
- Conduct reference checks and assist with pre-employment screenings.
- Manage and maintain accurate, organized records throughout the entire recruitment process, from initial engagement to onboarding.
Onboarding/Offboarding
- Process onboarding/pre-employment process ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner (e.g., I9 verification, E-Verify, HR action forms).
- Create, review and verify personnel and position transactions within HR applications for onboard/offboarding.
- Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Office on agency-wide staff notifications.
- Processes onboard/offboarding badge request for GTA employees and GTA contractors.
- As required, process background checks for GTA.
Employee Records Management:
- Maintain and update employee personnel files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and organizational standards.
· Oversee the record management function including the maintenance, retention, transfer, and disposition of personnel files and records.
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of any and all employee letters, including employment verification and other HR-related correspondence.
- Maintains and updates monthly the Employee contractor Status Report.
Payroll Processing:
- Maintains the HR payroll log and processes personnel transactions in TeamWorks HCM, which will include hire, transfer in/out, promotion, separation, retirement, salary supplements, salary increase/decrease, and position actions.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and employee status changes.
- Serves as a liaison to the payroll function.
Benefits Administration:
- Assist with employee benefits inquiries, providing guidance on available programs and eligibility.
- Support the administration of employee benefits enrollment and changes.
Procurement/Purchasing:
- Manage procurement and purchasing for the department, ensuring supplies and resources are maintained.
- Maintains Procurement & Contracts Spreadsheet for contract renewal for department.
- Track department budgets and work with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Reconcile monthly purchases as identified.
General HR Support:
- Provide administrative support to the HR Leadership team.
- Answer and direct HR direct phone calls.
- Organize and schedule meetings and appointments.
- Distribute, coordinate and produce HR/Facilities mail/e-mail inbox correspondence.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and inquiries.
- Triage and resolve HR-related inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
· Documents human resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Coordinates with internal departments on retirement requests.
- Maintains the agency recognition log for birthday-milestones, telework spreadsheet, quarterly newsletter.
● Assist with page design & upload of org chart and other department related material.
● Serves as project lead for assigned committees.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Proficient in HRIS, payroll systems (HCM/GA@Work), and onboarding platforms (NEOGOV).
· Attention to detail with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
· Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and compliance regulations.
· High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Seven (7) years of experience working in support roles for a Human Resources Office and must be able to handle high volume of work and be comfortable with busy office setting.

Worker Type: Hybrid (in-office: 2-3 days per week)
Target Hiring Salary Range: *$53,100 - $67,700
*Current Georgia state government employees will be subject to SPB rule provisions
