This position is located at the Georgia Garrison Training Center (Land Dominance Center) located on Fort Stewart, GA.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Abides by safety guidelines appropriate to the operation of the facility. Evaluates condition and operability of equipment and vehicles. Inspects completed work for conformity to specifications Ensures that parts for installation or maintenance meet required standards. May inspect and make repair estimates for damaged vehicles and equipment. May prepare and paint equipment and vehicles. Operates mechanics tools, metalworking, and welding equipment. Performs maintenance and repair to equipment, GSAs, trucks, or other engine driven equipment. Replaces and fabricated equipment components, body parts and performs body adjustments. Tests, inspects, and evaluates equipment to proper and safe operation in completion of repairs.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Preference will be given to those applicants who not only meet the minimum requirements, but also have:

 

  1. Must have or the ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (Class B preferred) 
  2. Must have the ability to read parts and repair manuals and complete work orders with accuracy   
  3. Candidate should have a minimum of 2 years mechanic experience, preferably landscape equipment and vehicles.   
  4. Must have a basic concept of welding 
  5. Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs regularly   
  6. Must be fully proficient in proper diagnostic skills
