The Georgia Department of Labor is accepting applications to fill multiple UI Claims Examiner Associate positions in the Benefits Payment Control Unit at the GDOL Headquarters in downtown Atlanta.
This offer is time-limited based on the needs of the Agency and funding availability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Reviews unemployment insurance claims for overpayments
Establishes and investigates fraud and non-fraud overpayments
Processes Employer and Claimant Wage Audit Notices
Conducts fact-finding procedures on an overpayment to determine whether the overpayment was due to fraud
Processes payments received and prepares daily deposit
Reviews appeals that are remanded to the overpayment unit
Reviews New Hire information received
Identifies any issue(s) and determines the correct department(s) to address the issue(s)
Performs daily clerical and follow-up tasks in support of overpayment/fraud investigation activities
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
One year of experience working in the unemployment insurance benefits program
Two years of experience performing duties related to determining program eligibility
