Summary/Objective

Installs, monitors, maintains, and secures information technology systems and software in a cloud and on-premises environment. Serves as the advanced level subject matter expert for systems administration and networking. Provides guidance and support to IT staff and end-users to resolve problems. This position will manage the Systems Administration team.

 

The intent of this role is senior level administration of O365/Azure and on-premises environment and must have IT management experience. This role is not intended for PC end user support or entry level Systems Admin support.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of IT Professionals, systems administration team.
  • Advanced administration experience in Microsoft Azure (Azure AD, Cloud Networking, Virtual Machines, Virtual Desktops, Azure Storage, Enterprise Applications, etc.)
  • Advanced tenant level administration experience with O365
  • Administration of Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with administration of Active Directory (i.e. Domain Controllers, Group Policy)
  • Administration of VMware infrastructure
  • Ensure information systems maintain secure configuration
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate processes
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking
  • Identifies recommend updates, and performs maintenance to the current network, computer systems, and systems architecture
  • Help to promote culture of information security within team and throughout the agency.
  • Ability to quickly learn systems and software used by the organization
  • Ability to work on assignments with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Prepares documentation and procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility 

This position manages a team within the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that team. 

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel will be likely.

 

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

As a condition of employment with Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, you must successfully complete a mandatory federal and national background check, pre-employment testing, and additional checks required for your job.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Four years IT management experience
  2. Four years advanced level Microsoft Azure / O365 administration
  3. Four years advanced level Microsoft Active Directory administration
  4. Two years network administration
  5. Two years IT system design and architecture
  6. Four years advanced level VMWare administration
  7. Three years of experience analyzing business needs and providing technical solutions

 

Certifications: Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)

 

Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or five (5) years in a managerial or supervisory role; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Mgr, Information Technology (ITM020) or position equivalent.
