Summary/Objective
Under direct supervision, assists with daily living activities at the person's home, in a daytime non-residential facility or a residential facility. Provides training of basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills to consumers/students in a residential employment environment.

- Counsels and advises clients and families about campus programs and residential policies, expectations, and GVRA policies and requirements.
- Build a positive and inclusive community
- Cultivate intentional group and individual connections
- Organize community building and social activities
- Assist students in getting connected to campus organizations
- Assist the Campus Life Manager and Residential Supervisor with executing educational events
- Participate in appropriate recruitment and enrollment activities including: open houses, local presentations, training sessions, orientation programs, career days, graduation, and etc.
- Provide peer accountability for the Code of Student Responsibility
- Refer and encourage students to utilize academic and student success resources on campus
- Provide crisis response and crisis management
- Assist with opening and closing assigned residence hall each semester
- Participate in on-call duty rotation (including weekends and some break periods) in assigned residential area
- Assist students with personal, academic, and transition concerns
- Encourage a cooperative and considerate living environment
- Help resolve roommate or group conflicts that may arise
- Role model academic success skills
- Respond to resident needs, facilities concerns, and emergencies
- Attend departmental functions, Residential Advisor training sessions, and weekly meetings
- Assist with special events
- Submit duty and incident reports as required
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED AND any combination of training and experience, which would have enabled the applicant to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Note: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 24-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodations can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time, Second shift position. Days and hours of work are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 2:30pm-11:00pm. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekday work.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
