POSITION: Part-time Sales Assistant, Forsyth Conference Center
REPORTS TO: Director, Forsyth Conference Center
SALARY: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on experience; up to 29 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sales Assistant is responsible for daily customer service needs, office administration, and planning, organizing and implementing events at the Forsyth Conference Center. Will also provide assistance in the operation of events at the Forsyth Conference Center.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree in business, event management, or closely related field. One (1) year of work-related experience in a meeting/event planning environment as an assistant, meeting planner, wedding coordinator, or other related specialty.
MAJOR DUTIES:
· Organizes and implements events at the Forsyth Conference Center;
· Ensures that conference and meeting arrangements are scheduled and confirmed with all parties involved in a timely manner prior to the event convening;
· Ensures that customer is apprised of the rules and regulations of the Center, all required paperwork is completed, and that all events are conducted in an appropriate manner;
· Creates accurate-to-scale computer renderings of the room layout for both customer and staff to ensure proper placement of all elements in the room design;
· Handles customer service needs, and serves as a point of contact for inquiries regarding conference facilities;
· Prepares quotes and sample layouts for prospective events;
· Performs a variety of regular office administration duties for each event;
· Apprises other staff members of their duties for each event;
· Assists in operations at Conference Center events as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Will occasionally lift or move objects of a light to medium weight, up to 20 pounds. Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.
