FWS - Distance Learning
This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in Academic Affairs that reports to the Director – Distance Education. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education
Salary: $13.50 per hour.
Hours: Days and Hours are flexible up to 19 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester at Gwinnett Technical College and be in good academic standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following technical competencies are preferred:
Ability to use computer programs; (Excel is a must) Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload; Ability to communicate well with students, faculty and staff; exhibit proper judgment in selecting which questions to handle or re-direct.
Job Description Summary:
Under close supervision, provides clerical support, Center for Teaching Excellence support and overall office assistance to Distance Education Team. This person will be required to assist with student questions and maintain confidentiality.
