WELDING Full Time INSTRUCTOR (Dekalb Campus)

This position requires teaching responsibilities for credit courses within the Welding and Joint Technology program in the Division of Industrial Technologies and Professional Services. Instruction will include day lecture and laboratory activities and may involve courses with some hybrid components via Blackboard. Classes will be taught at the GPTC Dekalb Campus. The instructor will report to the Division Dean.
The Instructor must possess the ability to:
- Teach all phases of Welding and Joint Technology Curriculum
- Teach high school students in dual enrollment programs and GPTC students
- Additional duties include developing instructional materials
- Evaluating students’ progress in achieving instructional goals and objectives
- Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the training area
- Provide professional instruction based on approved course syllabus
- Prepare curriculum for coursework taught
- Work day time hours
- Operate & maintain instructional equipment and/or trainers
- Deliver training by lecture, hands on, computer multi-media, online & text
- Maintain program certification requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in Welding and Joining Technology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) out of the past seven (7) years of field experience.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills. A flexible work schedule is necessary, as classes will be taught during days and evenings.

Preferred Qualifications:
- An associate degree in Welding and Joining Technology from an accredited institution.
- AWS or related welding certifications
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
- Online teaching experience
- Knowledge of Blackboard (Learning Management System) is desirable.
