ASN Nursing Instructor-Part-time
Georgia Piedmont Technical College is seeking a qualified and dedicated part-time ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) Instructor. The ideal candidate will bring professional nursing expertise in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Adult ICU Nursing, Pharmacology or Mental Health Nursing. Preferably, candidates will also have experience teaching Medical-Surgical/Adult Health, Pharmacology or Mental Health Nursing. Under general supervision, the ASN Part-time Nursing Instructor essential job responsibilities include:
· Teach nursing courses within the ASN curriculum with a focus on Medical-Surgical/Adult Health or Mental Health Nursing and develop and implement course syllabi, lesson plans and learning activities that align with program objectives and accreditation standards.
· Supervise and mentor students in clinical and laboratory settings, ensuring patient and student safety and effective learning experiences.
· Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback related to meeting goals and objectives outlined in the curriculum.
· Request and maintain supplies/equipment required for budgeting purposes.
· Collaborate with faculty and staff to assess and improve program outcomes.
· Prepares and maintains required documentation and administrative reports related to accreditation and state licensing management, policies and rules.
· Maintain compliance with the Georgia Board of Nursing and accreditation requirements.
· Participate in professional development and contribute to faculty governance.
· Must be willing to work flexible hours, fulfilling both teaching and non-teaching activities.
· Assists with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
Minimum qualifications for this position include: Current unencumbered Georgia RN license; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regional accredited college or university is required; Minimum of 3 years of professional nursing experience within the last 7 years in one or more of the following areas: Medical-Surgical Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Adult ICU, or Mental Health Nursing. Experience teaching Medical-Surgical/Adult Health, Pharmacology or Mental Health Nursing at the collegiate level; knowledge of instructional design and use of educational technology, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students and faculty are preferred.
