The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) is currently seeking a Tower Consultant (Storage, Data Center, MDM) – in the Customer Delivery Office (Infrastructure Unit)  

 

The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security. Managed network services include the state’s wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Tower Consultant is responsible for overseeing the efficient delivery of Storage, Backup, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) services for GTA and its customers. This role manages service provider performance, ensures compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), and collaborates with Service Delivery Management to implement cost-effective technology solutions. Acting as a subject matter expert, the Tower Consultant provides technical guidance on incidents, problems, and change management processes, and analyzes performance metrics related to Storage, Backup, and MDM environments. This position also serves as the primary technical liaison for activities at the primary and backup data centers.

 

The Tower Consultant reports directly to the Director of Infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

 

·         Manage the overall service delivery of all Storage and backup and MDM IT systems on Prem and Cloud

·         Monitor all service levels and contractual commitments for the Storage and Backup and MDM Tower.

·         Assist GTA and Agencies and Service Provider(s) with forecasting Storage and Backup and MDM resource requirements.

·         Provide support to GTA and GTA customers in accordance with the incident and problem management processes.

·         Act as the functional expert in the analysis, interpretation and presentation of performance measures regarding the Storage and backup and MDM SLAs. 

·         Review, endorse, and forward for approval specific plans as they relate to change management activities for the Storage and backup Tower.

·         Provide expert information and advice in response to inquiries from GTA and GTA customer staff regarding Storage and backup and MDM services.

·         Provide overall guidance to the Service Provider(s) Account Team(s) regarding the technical and operational Storage and Backup and MDM needs of GTA and GTA customers.

·         Recommend modifications to pertinent GTA information technology infrastructure standards.

·         Provide Storage and Backup and MDM technical knowledge and coaching to Service Delivery Managers and GTA Customers.

·         Act as Liaison for all technical activities at the Data Centers

·         Will be the SME for all Infrastructure at the Data Centers.

·         Will participate in any audits for the Data Centers.

·         Serves as technical liaison for all activities at the Data center (NADC) as well as the backup Data center.

·         Will be overall responsible for the MDM (Mobile device Management) Infrastructure in the GETS environment.

·         Performs all other duties as assigned.

·         Cloud experience in the AWS and Azure environment

 

AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

·         Seven (7) years of technical expertise and serving as a technical resource to Service Delivery Management staff working in an IT Infrastructure environment (storage, data center and MDM (Mobile Device Management)

OR Completion of BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience and/or certifications and three

·         Proven experience in strategy, planning, and execution

 

Preferred Qualifications

(Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the

qualifications listed, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience): 

·         Demonstrated experience with an organization with multiple business units with remote locations.

·         Experience interacting with state and/or elected officials

·         Experience working in an outsourcing environment

·         Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

·         Strong expertise and knowledge of ITIL processes

·         Experience managing IT Service Delivery Management in significant IT outsourcing relationships for infrastructure services is preferred

 

COMPENSATION/WORKER TYPE/ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Hiring Salary: *$99,200.00

Worker Type: Hybrid – State of Georgia Remote Work Option

*Current Georgia state government employees will be subject to SPB rule provisions.
