Job Summary:

 

Under supervision, schedules consumers for testing, assembles test materials and administer tests. Develops and implements behavior management and/or skills acquisition plans.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

 Assists with administration and scoring of tests. Develop and implement behavior management plans as required by regulatory agencies. Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on review of client information. Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client's treatment. Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan. Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports. Provides training to direct staff in implementing behavior modification techniques. Trains to collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests. Additional duties are as follows:

 

·      Implement Tier-2 PBIS interventions for selected youth (e.g., Check -in/ Check -out, Positive Behavior Support Plans, etc) and coach staff on Tier-2 interventions.

·      Be specially trained and tasked to observe/monitor for early signs and high-risk situations.

·      Serve as a mediator /facilitator to youth who are agitated or acting out.

·      Conduct debriefing conversations with youth who exhibit problem behaviors.

·      For youth on Special Management Plans (SMPs), the Intervention Specialist will work closely with Behavioral Health staff to understand youth-specific triggers, early warning signs, stressors and coping skills useful for prevention and de-escalation of aggression.

·      Brief security staff on Crisis Prevention and Crisis Prevention strategies specified in youths` SMPs. Enter applicable case notes in all youth served on a daily basis.

·      Lead interventions to de-escalate or manage youth who are displaying problem behaviors.

·      For youth who are on 1:1 supervision, the Intervention Specialist may serve as the supervising staff. If other staff are providing the 1:1 supervision, the Intervention Specialist (IS) will provide direction and coaching to supervising security staff.

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR certification as an addiction counselor from the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) or equivalent certification.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

 

·      Four-year degree in the Social Services field.

·      Specialized training and/or experience with older aggressive justice involved youth.

·      Experience working as a direct care provider in a residential treatment program or other program that serves youth with special needs.
