Primary Duties and Responsibilities, included, but not limited to:
Under broad supervision, Evaluates and assesses mandatory and voluntary rehabilitation plans for workers injured on the job, ensuring quality of care and compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Conducts conferences/teleconferences to negotiate resolution of differences among parties.
Issues administrative decisions and provides technical assistance.
Maintains a consistent, high quality, customer‑focused orientation when reviewing/assessing rehabilitation services and providing technical assistance to both internal and external customers.
Maintains a high level of knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of workers' compensation rehabilitation and mediation by reading appropriate publications and attending related seminars, conferences, etc.
Represents the division at professional conferences/meetings and trains professionals involved in the rehabilitation of injured workers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university AND two years of experience performing work related to area of assignment OR bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND five years of experience performing work related to area of assignment OR one year of experience at the lower-level Healthcare Program Consultant 2 (HCP091) or position equivalent.
Additional Agency Requirements:
One of the following certifications.
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)
- Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS)
- Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN)
- Work Adjustment and Vocational Evaluation Specialist (WAVES),
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC);
- Certified Case Manager (CCM)
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse/Specialist (COHN/COHNS) and,
Five (5) years of rehabilitation experience.
Must have excellent interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook.
