Safety & Complnc Spec 2 - Field Analyst (CDL Unit)
Under limited supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for all facets of the initial and ongoing certification requirements of Commercial Vehicle Driver Training School Owners, Instructors, as well as State CDL Examiners and Third Party CDL Examiners throughout the State of Georgia. The incumbent will:
• Audit and monitor all CDL regulated programs, instructors, and Examiners within his or her area of assignment to ensure compliance with federal regulations, agency rules and state law.
• Interpret and maintain knowledge of state, federal, and other Commercial Driver’s License regulations
• Respond to management and customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner in accordance with the core values of DDS
• Investigating customer complaints, presenting his or her finding to management, and making recommendations to management on the most appropriate course of action.
• Serve on task teams and workgroups
• Develop strong partnerships between the Division and its internal and external business partners. • Assist with training events, certifications classes, and community outreach efforts
• Compile various weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
• Record and enter data accurately, to include CSTIMS scoresheets and schedules

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Safety & Complnc. Spec. 1 (RCT010) or position equivalent interpreting and applying state laws, rules, and regulations in order to determine whether an applicant meets certain statutory requirements to hold a particular government-regulated credential, certification, or license.

Associates degree in a related field such as business, public administration, occupational safety, and one year of related experience interpreting and applying state laws, rules, and regulations to determine whether an applicant meets certain statutory requirements to hold a particular government-regulated credential, certification, or license.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess three or more of the following:
• Georgia Class A CDL with P and S endorsements.
• Experience driving a commercial motor vehicle.
• Prior knowledge of State and Federal Commercial Driver’s License Regulations
• Experience handling and maintaining the security of confidential information and/or documents.
Conditions of Employment: In-state travel is required for employees in this job. Week-long, overnight travel is also required. Selected candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel statewide. Selected applicant must also be able to physically maneuver under commercial vehicles of all types to conduct vehicle inspections. This position may also involve bending, lifting, and fueling commercial vehicles, performing outdoor activities, working in inclement weather, working holidays and working around moving vehicles. Upon acceptance of the position, the selected applicant would be required to possess a minimum of a Class A CDL with a P & S endorsement within twelve (12) months of hire.
