Summary/Objective:
Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Supervises the development, implementation and planning of an overall marketing strategy for a section, division or agency. Develops and administers the marketing budget.
Essential Functions:

1. Supervises and plans work of assigned staff
2. Develops effective marketing materials (e.g. exhibits and promotional materials).
3. Develops marketing plans and outlines marketing and advertising strategies
4. Establishes and maintains a working relationship with the area business community, internal and external agency customers, and other related contacts
5. Evaluate the financial aspects, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development.
6. Facilitate implementation of marketing plans with management and/or staff
7. Manages/leads strategic planning process in accordance with established guidelines
8. Negotiates contracts with vendors and distributors to manage product distribution
9. Provides direction and oversees the development of an effective and comprehensive marketing plan
10. Select products and accessories to be displayed at trade or special production shows

Required Education and Experience:
Associate degree in communication, English, or public relations from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of job-related experience; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower-level Marketing Spec 3 (GSP072) or position equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the required education and experience, possess a portfolio of work.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages a team within the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that team.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodations can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
