Paralegal Adjunct Instructor

This position requires teaching responsibilities for credit courses within the Paralegal Studies program in the Division of Industrial Technologies and Professional Services. Instruction will include both lecture and laboratory activities and may involve courses with some hybrid components. The instructor will report to the Division Dean.
The Instructor must possess the ability to:

- Teach all phases of the Paralegal Studies curriculum
- Teach high school students in dual enrollment programs
- Additional duties include developing instructional materials
- Evaluating students’ progress in achieving instructional goals and objectives
- Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the training area
- Provide professional instruction based on approved course syllabus
- Prepare curriculum for coursework taught
- Work flexible hours
- Operate & maintain instructional equipment & trainers
- Deliver training by lecture, hands on, computer multi-media, online & text
- Maintain program certification requirements
- Teach all phases of the Paralegal Studies curriculum
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate or Master’s degree from a national or regionally accredited college or university in Law or a closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Law or a closely related subject; such as Legal studies or Paralegal Studies.
Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate and 2 years of professional experience.
Experience in Real Estate Law including title services, property descriptions and closings.
Experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels the instructor will be expected to teach.
Knowledge of Blackboard (Learning Management System) is desirable. Experience in hybrid and/or virtual instruction or courses
Experience in teaching/advising/mentoring college-level students with broad, diverse backgrounds is also desired.
