The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their full-time Manager of Training & Support position in the Office of Workforce Development.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Oversee the daily activities of training staff. Perform administrative and supervisory functions including, but not limited to: performance evaluations; training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; maintaining leave records; monitor and maintain schedules and priorities. Assist local staff with policy, program, and processing questions. Work with various subject matter experts and consultants in designing and conducting regular training for various business processes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and software applications. Works with Regional Management to ensure local staff are receiving the necessary training and development to be effective on their jobs.


Additional duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

·       Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff.

  • Provide leadership and oversight in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programmatic and system training for staff. 
  • Work as a liaison between new employees, supervisors and management to ensure new employees have tools, training and understanding to be successful in providing services under the Wagner-Peyser grant and other program grants.
  • Develop and manage implementation of annual and multi-year plans for training, including development and delivery, that are designed to fulfill all training objectives. Ensure training on grant activities are administered in accordance with grant requirements.

·       Provides technical assistance/training to internal and external customers.

  • Set performance goals and objectives for training staff, facilitate development of strategies to meet or exceed performance objectives, monitor results, and recognize employee accomplishments.
  • Ensure trainers’ skills are appropriately evaluated regularly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university AND three years of related experience OR five years of relevant work experience.  Related work experience can be a combination of training delivery and design, with at least one year of supervisory experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

 

·       Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) and related Wagner-Peyser (WP) Act.

·       Experience with delivery of Employment Services and related grant activities such as JVSG.

·       Knowledge of state and federal regulations.

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

·       Basic computer skills and ability to adapt to job-related software programs

·       Organizational skills

·       Project management skills

·       Superior oral and written communication skills

·       Skills in interpersonal relations and customer service

·       Decision making and problem-solving skills
