Nurse Aid Instructor
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Ogeechee Technical College is seeking a Instructor who will provide classroom instruction for the Nurse Aide program. Job Responsibilities include the following:
- Prepares lesson plans and delivers classroom instruction
- Develops program syllabi, goals and objectives
- Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals, objectives, and state certifications
- Requests and maintains supplies and equipment
- Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate
- Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
- Advises and counsels program students
- Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area
- Other duties as assigned
- Candidate must have attended or be willing to attend the Train-the-Trainer Workshop from Alliant Health Solutions
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current, unencumbered Georgia Registered Nurse or Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse license;
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer literacy skills;
· Candidate must have a minimum of three years full-time nursing experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Work experience in a teaching/learning environment is preferred;
- Long-term care experience preferred.
Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. Employee frequently lifts and carries objects of a light to medium weight. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes. Driver’s License and evidence of insurability maybe required.
Salary/Benefits
Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package. Positions are contingent upon funding.
