Job Summary: Under limited supervision, coordinates and plans for the agency’s Annual Education Conference, as well as annual committee meetings. Responsible for all internal staff development programs. Responsible for marketing for annual events. Oversees training and learning outcomes in relation to functional and/or technical training activities. May design, develop and deliver training as needed. TRAVEL REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Marketing: With the direction of the Chairman, the Executive Director and the Steering Committee, research, and plan advertising campaign for the SBWC Annual Education Conference.
· Works with the printer and content contributors to assure that all content meets marketing standards and inspect creative elements and layouts. Oversee and instruct staff/volunteers of duties during seminars. Ensure deadlines are met.
· Locates potential meeting sites for training events, conferences, and other special events. Maintains a file of potential meeting sites based on the Board’s needs and budget, keeping in mind IT’s needs and location.
· Negotiates contracts with hotels and other businesses to secure meeting space, lodging, food, printing, speakers, entertainment, etc., for meetings, training events, conferences or other special events.
· Schedule annual events, specifically the Board's Annual Education Conference, and any other meetings and/or training that may arise during the year.
· Manage contracts with vendors, speakers, exhibitors and facilities for training, meeting and/or consulting services.
· Public Relations: Development of business relationships with stakeholders, doctors, employers, insurers, attorneys, exhibitors and vendors.
· Monitor invoices and budgets for training events, conferences and other special events. Develops a cost report and presents to the Chairman and Executive Director with a list of all costs once all invoices and receipts are received for all events within the review period.
· Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending in-service training, workshops, seminars and conferences and by reading professional literature in the related technical field
Minimum Training & Experience:
One year of management experience in area of assignment or six years of experience required in area of assignment and one year of management experience in the area of assignment. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year- over-year basis.
