Job Title: Mental Health and Justice Coordinator- Atlanta
Pay Grade: L- maximum starting salary is $61,500.00
Workplace: Hybrid- 3 days per week in office
Travel: Statewide, 20-30%
Job Summary:
This is a position with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Division of Behavioral Health, Department of Adult Mental Health and under the direct supervision of the Director of the Office of Mental Health and Justice Programs. The MH and Justice Coordinator will operate as part of the Office of Mental Health and Justice Programs team to ensure programmatic operations, compliance and provide oversight to the Jail In-Reach Programs and other Specialty programs as assigned.
Position Description and Responsibilities
· Development and management of programmatic contracts and contract amendments
· Payment of invoices as required for programmatic contracts
· Able to evaluate programs for compliance with grant / federal guidelines
· Able to assist with budget prep/monitoring, compiling and submitting findings and reports.
· Able to develop long- and short-term objectives, policies, protocols, guidelines, and plans for programs.
· Establishing and maintaining effective communication and cooperative working relationships with other regional staff, state/central office staff, other agencies, community-based organizations, law enforcement, criminal justice system and local groups and providers.
· Able to plan, direct, and implement specialty programs
· Ensures implementation and compliance with best practice for justice-mental health collaboration models and for special projects/programs
· Maintain knowledge of DBHDDs adult mental health services
· Engages in networking, collaboration, and provision of technical assistance and consultation
· Engages in quality improvement activities
· Engages and monitors programmatic data collection and analysis
· Assists Director of Mental Health Justice Programs with general programmatic oversight
· Organize and facilitate project specific provider meetings
· Collaboration with contracts and budget staff to maintain oversight of special projects programmatic financial matters
· Provide accurate tracking and records management as part of the review, approval and payment of monthly invoices
· Work collaboratively with special projects providers to ensure compliance with program requirements and expectations.
· Attends meetings as assigned by Director
· Maintain a special projects provider database.
· Collaborate with other DBHDD Offices on process and effectiveness improvements
· Project management and coordination with other DBHDD offices involving Adult Mental Health services process and effectiveness improvements
· Engages in quality improvement activities
· Provides technical assistance, training and consultation to providers of special projects
Minimum Qualifications
· Experience with program development and implementation
· Experience with federal grant management
· Experience performing program evaluation, program monitoring, data analysis
· Experience with service/programmatic systems design
· Demonstrated organizational skills
· Knowledge of DBHDD’s adult Community Mental Health services
· Effective interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualification
· Master’s degree in a human service-related field
· Two years’ programmatic development, coordination and oversight experience in mental health or police and mental health collaborations
· Grant management experience
· Comfort with occasional statewide travel
