Student Life Coordinator
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their fulltime Student Life Coordinator in the Office of Student Affairs. Under the general direction of the Student Affairs Manager, the Student Life Coordinator will be responsible for orchestrating student events and helping oversee state student organizations. The employee will be assisting with SkillsUSA, helping organize state competitions, coordinating volunteers, doing paperwork for purchasing, and keeping records and reports accurate and updated. While performing multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will be expected to provide excellent customer service and responsiveness by being detail oriented and demonstrating good communication and organizational skills. The employee will be responsible for maintaining an excellent working relationship with and serve as a liaison to internal and external customers. This position requires approximately 30% travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Serve as Assistant State Director for SkillsUSA Georgia Postsecondary
· Help coordinate event logistics including but not limited to reading/managing architectural floor plans, electrical requests, furniture requests, audio/visual needs, catering, volunteer management, and negotiate contracts (including hotels, speakers, etc.)
· Manage student testing, including proctor recruitment and training
· Create and manage training materials for student organization students, advisors, chapters, competition technical chairs, and competition judges
· Plan and facilitate Georgia Fall Leadership Conference for SkillsUSA, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), Georgia Student Government Association (GSGA), and other Collegiate Student Organizations
· Plan and facilitate State Officer Training for SkillsUSA, FBLA, NTHS, and GSGA
· Assist with marketing including creating/designing materials, managing websites, and managing social media accounts
· Help manage inventory of contest prizes, industry gifts, sponsorships, and scholarships
· Help maintain established and initiate new contacts with business and industry partners to obtain financial and volunteer support
· Help manage budgets of state student organizations
· Develop and/or assist with the development of policies and procedures and recommend changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of programs
· Other student affairs duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate’s degree in a related field
· 3 years of student organization or event planning experience
· Ability to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items up to 50 lbs. or more; this position has significant large event setups that requires significant movement and lifting heavy equipment
· Operate motor vehicles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field
· Proficiency in CAD software
· Proficiency in Blackboard or similar LMS
· Proficiency in website management

· Knowledge of the practices of student life program development and implementation
· Knowledge of budget development and management principles
· Skill in the operation of computers and ability to learn new technology quickly
· Oral and written communication skills
· Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
· Decision making and problem-solving skills in high stress and noisy environments
· Appropriately handles criticism, conflicts, and complaints
· Must be able to effectively prioritize, organize, use time-management skills, and be adept at multitasking
· Demonstrate an open-minded approach to understanding people regardless of their gender, age, race, national origin, religion, ethnicity, disability status, or other demographic characteristics; treat all people fairly and consistently
