Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled work associated with the maintenance and repair of the college's facilities and grounds. This is a full-time, benefitted, non-exempt position. The position will be expected to travel between the Savannah, Crossroads (Pooler), and Effingham Campuses as business needs dictate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent *and* One (1) year of experience in a skilled trade or building maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) or more years of experience in a skilled trade or building maintenance
- HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical competencies, licenses and the like
- Experience working for a state agency
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
- Ability to use a computer and knowledge of basic computer program functions
- Valid driver's license
Physical Demands:
Ability to life/move objects weighing 15lbs or more; ability to use a range of hand and power tools; ability to work in various environmental conditions; ability to climb ladders; ability to work independently. This position is a field position and will require constant movement and repetitive motions.
Salary/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
