POSITION:                           RECRUITMENT SPECIALIST  

 

REPORTS TO:                     DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

 

SALARY RANGE:               Low $40’s annually, depending on education and experience

 

EFFECTIVE DATE:            This position is available now

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision of the Director of Admissions, the Recruitment Specialist is responsible for student recruitment activities and transitioning students to regular admission status.  Will also provide support to the Office of Admissions by providing information to prospective students and visitors about Lanier Technical College Admissions and its academic programs offered. 

 

MAJOR RESPONSBILITIES:

 

·       Plan and implement student recruitment activities to include individual and group campus tours;

·       Plan and implement activities for student transitional recruitment from LTC adult education and LTC dual enrollment students to LTC post-secondary students. 

·       Assist in managing recruitment activities via our CRM (Target X). 

·       Plan recruitment material mailings, work with marketing to create social media outreach, order and maintain promotional gifts for events, and serve as Lanier Technical College’s representative at college recruitment functions;

·       Assists prospective students with the admission and readmissions process;  

·       Provide information by telephone, written correspondence and in person to interested parties regarding application procedures and admissions requirements;

·       Collaborate with Academics for prospective student high school visits, college preview and open houses, and tours;  

·       Assist with the design and execution of special event projects and activities;

·       Provide quality customer service to Lanier Technical College’s internal and external customers in the seven-county service delivery area. 

·       Work with and assist prospective adult education and academic credit students with the admission process from inquiry to matriculation and graduation;

·       Work with diverse clients while exemplifying quality customer service skills;

·       Other work duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree from a regionally accredited college or university AND Three (3) years of related work experience, to include working with the public in a customer service environment.  NOTE:  This is the correct listing of minimum qualifications for this position.  Please ignore the minimum qualifications listed at the bottom of this job posting.

 

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Ability to work flexible hours and maintain a 40-hour workweek, to include evenings and weekends on occasion;

·       Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite;

·       Effective oral and written communication skills;

·       Effective organization and time management skills;

·       Effective skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to minimum qualifications & technical qualifications)

·       Work experience using a student information system, such as Banner or a College CRM System.

·       Experience in event planning.

·       Proficiency in Spanish.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table, or while intermittently sitting, standing, or walking.  Occasionally lifts light to medium weight objects. Work is performed in an office environment and also in various school locations.

 

State of GA benefits include: A choice of retirement plans (Georgia State Employees’ Pension and Savings Plan or Teachers’ Retirement System), health and flexible benefits insurance options, sick leave and annual leave accruals (10 hours each monthly), and 13 state holidays. This position is also eligible for telework options, one day per workweek, after six (6) months of employment.
