The Forsyth Conference Center at Lanier Technical College - (www.forsythconferencecenter.laniertech.edu) has an opening for the following part-time, non-benefits eligible, FLSA non-exempt position. Hours are flexible during the work-week period. POSITION: Event Staff, Forsyth Conference Center

REPORTS TO: Operations Manager, Forsyth Conference Center

WAGE: Hourly rate based on experience up to 29 hours per week

  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conference Center Event Staff are responsible for the customer service needs of a specific event including, setup, organizing, greeting, implementing, and clean-up of events at the Forsyth Conference Center. Will also provide occasional assistance with basic janitorial tasks.

 

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Assists with scheduled events at the Forsyth Conference Center as directed by the manager on duty;
  • Ensures that conference and meeting arrangements are setup according to the guests needs and agreement with the sales office;
  • Ensures that the event is enjoyed in a responsible and safe manner for the wellbeing of their guests;
  • Assists assigned caterers with execution of all meal services including table setting and clearing;
  • Handles customer service needs, and serves as a point of contact for inquiries regarding the event underway;
  • Performs basic janitorial functions as needed;
  • Performs a variety of regular operational duties for each event;
  • Apprises other staff members of their duties for each event.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous cleaning/custodial experience.  

 COMPETENCIES:

  • Effective written and oral communication skills;
  • Effective decision making and problem-solving skills;
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public;
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):

Hospitality and/or food service experience
