Human Resources Coordinator

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of one or more human resources functional areas for the college. Provides information about employee benefits for new hires and existing employees, including flexible benefits, health benefits, open enrollment, and employee leave. Coordinates and processes Flexible Benefits packages for new employees as well as open enrollment periods in compliance with state and federal laws. Reviews and processes personnel and/or position transactions, including coding for payroll, preparing separation notices. Maintains files and records. completes required reports. Coordinates human resources processes such as employment, compliance, benefits, transactions, leave, workers compensation. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications: Associate degree in Human Resources or a closely related field from an accredited college or university *and * Two (3) years of full-time work experience in human resources areas of responsibility. Preferred qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in Human Resources and (2) years of full-time work experience in human resources role. Ability to interact and communicate effectively in a clear, concise manner with compassion for employees and external customers from all types of backgrounds and across various classification levels. Strong prioritization, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to understand, create, and implement processes and system changes. Knowledge, understanding, and ability to accurately apply federal and state employment laws. SHRM-SCP or SPHR, HRCI-SPHR or PHR, (or other Human Resources certification), diversity related certification, and experience in higher education, public schools, or government agencies are pluses.
