(This position is full-time, but time limited with an anticipated duration of 18-24 months subject to funding. Hiring salary will be based on experience, credentials, internal pay equity, and statewide rules.)

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

COME JOIN THE TEAM!  The Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) is excited to accept applications for the position of HR Specialist 2 in the Human Resources Administration (HRA) division.  The HR Specialist 2 will support Human Resources Administration, Enterprise Talent Management Services team with providing consultative, advisory, and technical support to state of Georgia agencies with a focus on Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, and compensation and classification services.

Our ideal candidate will be self-aware, with an understanding of human resource management programs and processes, specifically those related to talent acquisition/recruiting, university relations, talent management, and compensation, and if selected will be expected to demonstrate:

·         The ability to communicate the HRA ETMS unit’s vision and mission to State agencies throughout Georgia

Job Duties

Under general supervision, the specialist will perform the following:

·         Document and respond to customer inquiries related to compensation (market data) and talent areas (talent acquisition and/or performance management).

  • Assist other team members with developing and designing compensation and/or talent development (talent acquisition and/or performance management) related content for customers and the DOAS website, to include FAQs and knowledge articles.
  • Assist other team members with developing and delivering presentations and other training materials for customers, as requested.
  • Support other team members with researching, analyzing, and reporting Performance Management/Talent Acquisition data using PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM).

 

This position may require some travel.

Completion of a pre-employment background check is required.

 

DOAS participates in a hybrid work environment and

Telework is encouraged with some days in the office required.

MINIMUM ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: 

High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related experience in human resources;

OR one (1) year of experience required at the lower level HR Spec 1 (HRP020) or position equivalent.

 

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess ONE or more of the following:

  • Demonstrated work experience in one or more HR areas: compensation, classification, talent acquisition, performance management, or talent management
  • Previous experience in a state government HR unit
  • Two or more years’ experience equivalent to lower level HR Spec 1 (HRP020)

·      Experience using Workday or PeopleSoft HCM or other HRIS or compensation systems

  • Strong technical skills, including intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
