This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the Institutional Advancement Division that reports to the Administrative Assistant. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education. 

Salary: $13.50 per hour.

Hours: Days and Hours are flexible up to 19 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester at Gwinnett Technical College and be in good academic standing.

Preferred Qualifications: 

In addition to the minimum qualifications, you must be highly organized and able to use a computer and office machines, research information, draft basic letters and documents, and be comfortable with telephone contact.

Technical Competencies:

1.       Ability to use computer programs;

2.       Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and prioritize workload;

3.       Export and Import Documents 

Job Description Summary:
This is a Special Project. Under close supervision, provide confidential and technical support to the Office of Institutional Advancement and related personnel.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

Percentage of Time

Assists in organizing and executing routine activities and special projects; other duties as assigned.

  • Research specific business entities for executive contacts, affiliations and products.
  • Collect research data for specific focus items.
  • Make copies as needed.
  • Create packets for GTF meetings.
  • Ensure supplies of items for information packets are available.
  • Assist with office filing and setting up files.
  • Prepare handout materials for events.
  • Assist with Special Projects including clean up
