Full-Time Instructor - Paramedics (Evenings)
Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the Full-Time Paramedics Instructor (Evenings) position in the Health & Public Safety Technologies department of the Academic and Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s Main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.
Under the supervision of the Dean of Health & Public Safety Technologies, and department Chair, the Full-Time Paramedics Instructor (Evenings) is responsible for preparing and delivering quality curriculum with daily instruction of students. This position will primarily be scheduled in the Evening.
Job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:
· Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
· Demonstrate the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements.
· Demonstrate the effective use of oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the field.
· Follow approved curriculum standards and course syllabi.
· Monitor students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
· Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
· Maintain classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans.
· Place, supervise, and communicate with students while on clinical experiences.
· Develop criteria and procedures for clinical site selection, utilization, and assessment.
· Establish, develop, and maintain an adequate number of clinical education sites relative to quality, quantity and diversity of learning experiences.
· Collaborate with clinical faculty to promote, coordinate, plan, and provide clinical faculty development opportunities using effective instructional methodologies and technologies.
· Administer a system for the academic program's clinical education records.
· Act as an intermediary among the appropriate parties to facilitate the acquisition of clinical education agreements.
· Provide ongoing communication with clinical educators at each clinical education site.
· Prepare clinical rotation assignment schedules.
· Attend meetings as required.
· Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations.
· Assist with student recruitment and job placement.
· Serve on committees.
· Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and accreditation standards.
· Follow rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
· Follow rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia and other policies and procedures established by the Atlanta Technical College.
· Assist in the development of reports and other requirements by the state and program accreditation agencies; and
· Perform additional duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
· Associate degree in Paramedic Technology or related healthcare field.
· Current Georgia Paramedic license & National Registry of EMT’s Paramedic Certification; Georgia Level III (Paramedic) instructor license; BLS & ACLS, PALS instructor; EPC or PEPP instructor.
· Three (3) years of Paramedic field experience within the past seven years
· Three (3) years of experience teaching in the EMS profession.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related Health Care field.
· Three (3) or more years of Paramedic field experience within the past seven years and a minimum of four (4) or more years’ experience teaching in the EMS profession.
· Current Georgia Paramedic license & National Registry of EMT’s Paramedic Certification; Georgia Level III (Paramedic) instructor license; BLS & ACLS, PALS instructor; EPC or PEPP instructor.
