Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) Office of Federal Programs is recruiting for an experienced Education Program Manager in the Division for Exceptional Children - Results Driven Accountability.
Description of Duties:
· Monitor and evaluate results and recommend improvement to goals and objectives
· Directs subordinate managers and staff
· Assesses status of program implementation, documents result and recommends changes and improvements based on research and evaluation data
· Develops and maintains curriculum standards
· Set performance goals and objectives
· Design program procedures and develop policies
· Interview, hire, direct, train, evaluate the performance of employees
· Manage human resources and directs administrative activities
· Provide effective staff development and technical assistance to support program efforts at the implementation level
· Responsible for strategic planning program and implementation and evaluation of performance measures
· Supervise statewide staff using current and widely accepted management principles to maximize human, financial and technical resources
· Leads General Supervision efforts as well result driven accountability and to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
**This is a remote/telework position based in Downtown Atlanta. Statewide travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
· Master’s or higher degree in related field, -special education, leadership or other education field
· Strong knowledge of IDEA law and compliance
· Experience in conducting online webinars, meetings, and teleconferences
· Strong work ethic, self-directed, and self-motivated
· The ability to manage multiple, overlapping high priority tasks in a fast-paced environment - Demonstrated success in team building and the continuous improvement processes
· Extensive knowledge of IDEA law and compliance, professional learning design and delivery. Expertise in one or more program-specific disabilities, and/or related services.
