Director, High School Equivalency Program

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified candidates for a full-time Director, High School Equivalency position within the Office of Adult Education. This position sets the vision and direction for High School Equivalency (HSE) testing, credentialing, customer service, and reporting on HSE data. This position requires a valid driver's license and will include occasional travel and evening work hours for statewide events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Administrator for the state of Georgia’ High School Equivalency Program
· Manage HSE Office staff
· Oversee training and technical assistance for HSE testing centers across the state
· Leverage, build upon, and effectively implement a defined strategy to continue to further the number of Georgians that attain a High School Equivalency credential (GED and HiSET)
· Manage the issuance of reports and credentials consistent with both the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and High School Equivalency external providers’ policies (GED and HiSET).
· Build strong relationships in the HSE assessment community.
· Negotiate data sharing agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements and MOU’s with testing vendors, Georgia public agencies, and other applicable organizations
· Partner with the TCSG Information Technology and Data Resources team to design protocols for the security and privacy of all test taker data.
· Manage and oversee financial and budget operations for the HSE department by monitoring revenues and expenses to meet or end the year under the assigned budget.
· Manage the content for the TCSG HSE webpage and maintain the accuracy of the HSE information and services.
· Represent Georgia’s HSE program at state, regional and national meetings and conferences.
· Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree *and* two (2) years of management or supervisory experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Master’s Degree
· 3+ years of experience in budget management
· Demonstrated success managing a team to strong outcomes
· Knowledge and experience with industry best practices in HSE testing administration
· Strong customer service orientation, desire to embrace technology as a means of improving service
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
· Deep critical thinking and problem-solving skills, driven by clear, rigorous logic
· Ability to set vision and direction in dynamic environment, leveraging input from multiple stakeholders
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Advanced proficiency using PowerPoint and Excel
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including ability to illustrate findings
