The State Accounting Office (SAO) provides accounting and financial reporting expertise for the State and is statutorily responsible for statewide financial reporting. The SAO also provides enterprise oversight and management of the State’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, accounting policy development, financial business process improvement recommendations, and management of the payroll and accounting shared service centers.
Position Description:
The Training Director will bring senior level leadership to the training area by creating and delivering engaging, high-impact training content across various formats, including in-person, virtual, and on-demand. This role will work closely with multiple owners in the Human Capital Management (HCM), Finance and Procurement business suites as well as partner agencies and third-party vendors. Aligning training initiatives with application functionality and end-user needs will be an integral component of success in the role. Forward-thinking, proactive planning and collaboration across multiple workgroups will enable this role to prepare the organization for current and future development and growth.

Salary range: $69,134.16 - $91,309.47
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
· Lead curriculum and content development for an adult learning program for the GA@WORK (Workday) HCM, Finance and Procurement platform
· Oversees training development using various learning modalities
· Establish metrics and feedback loops to assess and evaluate effectiveness of training content and trainer delivery to refine training content and delivery and impact on stakeholders
· Review and approve various forms of learning content for acceptance and deliverance to end users (job aids, quick reference guides, instructor led in-person, instructor led virtual, etc.)
· Determine toolset to be used for training material development
· Oversee accessibility to training environments and that they are prepared and available to trainers on an ongoing basis
· Collaborate with various change governance teams to ensure training needs are captured and addressed in a timely manner
· Work collaboratively with internal peers, partner agencies and third-party vendors to develop and manage a comprehensive training roll-out and training sustainment strategy (new hires, refreshers, just in time)
· Execute against and refine the roll-out and sustainment strategy to ensure a high user adoption rate
· Coordination of multiple simultaneous training events for large audiences such as training conferences
· Ensure training content is engaging, accessible, role-specific and aligned with the appropriate business suite and leverages various learning modalities
· Participate in strategic conversations to ensure increased user adoption
· Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing training team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
· Serve as trainer as necessary to support team, state agencies and subsequently end users as needed
Skills and Competencies:
· Exhibit strong leadership skills to ensure State training expectations are delivered by vendors
· Strong facilitation skills for both virtual and in-person formats for groups of varying sizes
· Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
· Ability to engage and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
· Ability to design and implement effective training
Strong data analysis skills to measure training effectiveness, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and eight (8) years of experience in area of assignment, which includes four (4) years in a managerial role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess the following:
· Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred.
· Five years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs.
· Expertise in instructional design and curriculum development
· Experience in content development, delivery and facilitation for adult learners
· Experience leading diverse team of agency and vendor training developers
· Experience developing and delivering training for a large ERP effort (SAP, Workday, Infor)
· Experience with various learning tools such as Articulate 360, Captivate, Yvond, etc.
· Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies
