Job Summary:

The CAPS (Childcare and Parent Services) Data Support Analyst reports to the CAPS Senior Data Analyst and works under general supervision to prepare statistical, financial, and operational data and reports that support the Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS) program within the Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL). This role involves identifying trends, discrepancies, and variances to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of CAPS operations. The analyst will deliver data and reports in a usable format to program leadership and management, collaborate closely with the CAPS Data Analyst, and coordinate with other staff to guide data collection and analysis across various business functions. This is a home-based position.

Job Responsibilities:

·       Develop and distribute recurring and ad-hoc reports across CAPS functional areas.

·       Create charts, graphs, and presentations to communicate ad-hoc data analysis results.

·       Monitor reports for data discrepancies and document and resolve issues.

·       Contribute to the development of new reports and enhancement of existing ones.

·       Design presentation materials such as slide decks, flowcharts, and graphs for management communication.

·       Present data and reports visually to internal and external stakeholders.

·       Provide guidance on data sources and preparation methods.

·       Support data entry and cleanup tasks to ensure consistency and quality across systems.

·       Manually consolidate and reconcile data from multiple sources when needed.

·       Assist with open records requests related to the CAPS program.

·       Gather, prepare, and format data for various business processes.

·       Participate in requirements sessions to assess the impact of business process changes on data systems.

·       Support CAPS leadership in acquiring data for decision-making and operational needs.

·       Engage in workgroups and stakeholder sessions to improve data access and reporting in IES.

·       Collaborate with other DECAL divisions on data and research initiatives.

Agency Preferred Qualifications:

·       Educational background or training in social science, public policy, education research, or a related field.

·       Ability to integrate data from different systems and reports.

·       Familiarity with the Georgia Gateway Integrated Eligibility System.

·       Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Entry Qualifications:

Associate degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

Technical Competencies:

·       Knowledge of CAPS eligibility requirements and data systems.

·       Ability to translate business needs to administrative and functional staff involved in eligibility and case management.

·       Understanding data system interactions.

·       Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·       Intermediate proficiency in SharePoint and information databases.

·       Strong customer service skills, including anticipating needs, providing timely assistance, and maintaining effective communication.

·       Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

·       Effective collaboration and teamwork skills.

·       Excellent oral and written communication and organizational abilities.

·       Skill in organizing and evaluating data to support decision-making.

·       Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.

Essential Functions:

·       Efficient use of multiple visual displays on a computer.

·       Clear verbal articulation during visual and audible presentations, whether virtual or in-person.
