Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning is responsible for meeting the childcare and early education needs of Georgia's children and their families. It administers the nationally recognized Georgia's Pre-K Program, licenses childcare centers and home-based childcare, administers Georgia Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS) program, federal nutrition programs, and manages Quality Rated, Georgia's community powered childcare rating system.
The department also houses the Head Start State Collaboration Office, distributes federal funding to enhance the quality and availability of childcare, and works collaboratively with Georgia childcare resource and referral agencies and organizations throughout the state to enhance early care and education.
Job Description:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of clerical business process functions and duties for Nutrition Services Application Unit. Clerical duties include reviewing and processing requests related to participants of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Also, performs technical level duties related to data collection and retention. Researches and resolves Program issues, and develops, analyzes, and organizes information for reporting purposes. Provides effective and timely customer service. Minimum travel required. Reliable attendance is an essential function of this position; consistent availability to work scheduled appointments and adherence to report deadlines is required.

Job Responsibilities:
· Review, interpret and apply federal regulations and state policies for CACFP and SFSP.
· Review and determine eligibility of CACFP sponsored facilities. Review and process monthly updates for participating CACFP institutions. Provide clear and concise technical assistance needed to complete the CACFP sponsored facility application within 15 days of receipt.
· Review and determine eligibility of SFSP feeding sites. Review and process weekly updates for participating SFSP sponsoring organizations. Provide clear and concise technical assistance needed to complete the SFSP sponsored facility application within 3-5 days of receipt.
· Collect and maintain required application documents. Ensure complete files are accessible and available upon request.
· Respond to internal/external requests for technical assistance within 24 hours via phone or email. Maintain documentation to support the technical assistance visit/discussion.
· Review and respond to Open Records requests related to CACFP and/or SFSP Applications.
· Review and create legal files related to pending CACFP and/or SFSP adverse actions.
· Track CACFP monthly and SFSP weekly application submissions and maintain internal logs.
· Complete annual archival process for CACFP and SFSP application files.
· All other duties as assigned and/or as needed.
Technical Competencies:
· Knowledge and application of federal regulations (7 CFR 226 or 7 CFR 225)
· Knowledge and use of Data Management systems (ATLAS and Microsoft Office)
Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND two (2) years of experience communicating information in a customer service setting OR One year of experience required at the lower level Customer Svc Rep 1 (GST120) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess at least one year of work experience with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and/or the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and determining eligibility
