HENRY COUNTY CENTER
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent *and* Six (6) months of related work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
(In addition to the minimum qualifications) Knowledge of BANNER, the student information computer system; at least one (1) year experience working with customers face to face. Must have data entry skills and able to work flexible hours. Bilingual proficiency with the Spanish/English language (verbal and written).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for performing administrative duties in the Henry Center Student Success Center, providing direct support to the Office of Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid, Business Center, and Tutoring Services. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining an organized and welcoming office environment, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Student Affairs Division.
DUTIES (include but are not limited to):
Front Desk Management:
• Responds to requests and needs of visitors and students
• Supports department staff and functions including mailings, data entry, and processing of documents, attending to material supply needs of department
• Performs database retrieval for directory information
• Manage the front desk area, ensuring it is tidy, organized, and conducive to a welcoming environment
• Keeps abreast of admissions regulations, policies and procedures
• Provides information by telephone, written correspondence and in person to interested parties regarding applicant procedures and admissions requirements
• Processes new student applications and related information and prepares student files
• Schedule students for appropriate testing
• Provides administrative assistance
• Assists with registration activities
Communication:
• Managing the Student Success Center switchboard, providing information and directions to callers and visitors
• Assists callers in identifying needs and then routing calls appropriately
Customer Service:
• Provide accurate information about Student Affairs programs, services, and resources
• Guide students to appropriate offices or services within the college as needed
• Handle complaints, concerns, or issues professionally and escalate to the appropriate staff member when necessary
Generalist (Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid):
• Guide prospective students through the admissions process, including application submission, document collection, and providing New Student Orientation information
• Serve as a point of contact for applicants, answering questions about admission requirements, deadlines, and next steps
• Assist students in completing FAFSA applications, provide overview of verification processes, and resolving frontline financial aid issues
• Provide information on foundation scholarships, grants, work-study opportunities, and loan options
• Support academic advisors during peak registration periods by assisting with course scheduling and registration questions
• Guide students in understanding program requirements, transfer options, and academic policies when additional support is needed for advising.
Other Duties:
• Perform additional administrative tasks and projects as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all college policies and procedures.

SALARY/BENEFITS:
Salary commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, paid annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
SPECIAL NOTES:
