Banner Support Specialist

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking a Banner Support Specialist in their Enterprise Services department to support infrastructure changes, upgrade development and technical support for the TCSG student information system (SIS). This position includes support for SIS integrations, research into new products, services and technologies required to support the SIS environment. This position would involve work on regular Banner upgrade development as well as special projects involving automation, dev-ops and cloud services. The candidate will be expected to interact with users, peers and management via phone, IM, video, email and in person.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide technical support for the SIS at TCSG’s 22 colleges, both locally managed and Managed Services colleges.
· Develop upgrade procedures and documentation for the core SIS components, supported third party products and supported integrations.
· Configure and support Banner SaaS applications and related integrations.
· Create and maintain third party integration procedures and documentation using integration tools, APIs, data extracts, secure file transfers, and other methodologies.
· Because this position supports mission critical software at the colleges, evening and weekend support may be required for incident response.
· Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate degree *and* Three (3) years of work-related experience Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 or more years of experience supporting Ellucian’s Banner Student Information System
- 1 or more years of experience with a programming language, automation technologies, software containerization and/or cloud services.

• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Experience with SaaS application configuration and support.
• Some experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, JavaScript, JSON, XML, APIs and software development practices.
• Familiarity with Linux, relational databases, Apache Tomcat, web services
