Southern Division- Specialized Division Manager
The Georgia Public Defender Council (GPDC) is seeking to hire an experienced Specialized Division Manager for South Georgia. The Primary duties will consist of representing and advocating for indigent clients within the Southern Divisions. The selected candidate will be responsible for representing clients in court at various stages of cases, including arraignments, preliminary and pretrial hearings, in addition to many other essential duties. A State vehicle will be provided for required travel. Applicants must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience at the lower Attorney level 3 is required.

Description of Duties: The Specialized Division Manager will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients. This position is for a supervisor/lead attorney, assigned to serious, high-profile, and significant felony cases throughout the state. Applicants are required to not only be a competent trial attorney but also be well organized and demonstrate their ability to schedule their time effectively and handle representing clients in a variety of jurisdictions. Performs other duties as assigned.
