Associate Vice President - Emerging Technologies and Technical Studies
Employment Terms: This job is a full time, benefited, FLSA Exempt/Professional position in the Academic Affairs Division that reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Salary: to commensurate with education and experience
Minimum qualifications (Job Code 10010): Bachelor’s degree in a related field *and* Five (5) years of related work experience
Preferred qualifications: Master’s or doctoral degree in a related field
Job Description:
Under minimal supervision, leads development of academic programs aligned with industry needs, focusing on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). Acts as liaison to external organizations, promoting academic programs and building industry partnerships in fields such as IT, manufacturing, and trades. Supervises academic staff, manages budgets, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports strategic planning. Oversees AI committee and program integration. Participates in internal and external meetings. Coordinates with agencies, maintains control structures, reviews operational efficiency, assists with recruitment initiatives, and supports special projects. Teaches courses as needed and may represent the vice president in their absence.

Supervises academic staff, manages budgets, ensures regulatory compliance, and supports strategic planning. · Assists in the planning and organizing of the unit’s work to meet objectives; · Manages budget and expenditures for the unit; · Develops and maintains systems and internal control structures for assigned functions; · Monitors progress and productivity of assigned staff; · Reviews operations for efficiency and compliance with applicable regulations and standards; · Assists with the compilation of quarterly and annual reports; · Provides leadership for the assigned divisions’ schedule of course offerings; · Participates in strategic planning and provides leadership for division/program assessment. |
