Assessment Specialist, Psychometrics & Reporting
Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE)-Office of Assessment and Accountability is recruiting for an experienced Assessment Specialist, Psychometrics and Reporting. Under limited supervision, this position applies professional expertise in measurement (psychometrics), research, and reporting to support the activities associated with Georgia’s student assessment program with an emphasis on providing accurate data, quality reports, and assessment research. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Description of Duties
- Manipulate and analyze assessment data using SPSS and Excel
- Review and audit assessment data to ensure accuracy of the data and corresponding reports, including interactive/dashboard reports
- Coordinate and monitor the completion of project tasks with overlapping timelines
- Produce reports, briefs, visualizations and presentations
- Develop, review, and/or revise technical documentation and business rules
- Respond to data requests and provide assistance to local school systems and Georgia Department of Education staff
- Conduct assessment research
- Provide support to the Test Development and Test Administration teams, as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
- Education Specialist or higher degree
- Graduate-level coursework in educational measurement, research, statistics, or a related field
- Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets, including writing analysis code or syntax
- Experience interpreting large-scale educational assessment data and writing research briefs
- Experience developing, reviewing, and/or revising technical documentation and business rules
- Proficiency in Excel and SPSS (or other statistical analysis program)
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- District or school experience in K-12 education
***This is a remote telework position based in Downtown Atlanta. Some statewide travel may be required.
