Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its (part-time) Adjunct Culinary Arts position, for the Spring/Summer 25' academic year, in the Academic Affairs Division. This position is located on Atlanta Tech's Main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.
Essential Duties will include:
Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques;
Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required;
Demonstrates the use of effective communication skills;
Demonstrates knowledge of current procedures in the Culinary Arts field;
Follows approved course syllabus;
Responsible for teaching and monitoring students on internship;
Shares in the responsibility of coordinating functions and ordering food and supplies for cafeteria, restaurant and Early Education Center;
Completes all reports, records and invoices in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties;
Monitors students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment;
Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student classrooms and laboratories;
Attends meetings as required and appropriate;
Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations;
Assists with student recruitment and job placement as directed by division director;
Serves on committees as directed and coordinated by division director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or a related field (Food service, restaurant management, etc.) is required. Diploma must be from a regional accredited private or public postsecondary institution. Three years paid work experience in-field within the past seven years. Work experience must include the competencies, skills and knowledge levels included in the culinary arts instructional program. Occupational experience must meet the current requirements of the appropriate licensing boards for the area of instruction. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills. Must possess and maintain the appropriate professional credential for or related to the field or position. ServSafe certification is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, Master’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Culinary related field from a regionally accredited institution. Prior teaching experience preferred but not required. Work experience must include competencies, skills and knowledge levels included in the culinary arts field.
