Air Conditioning Adjunct Instructor (DeKalb)

This position requires teaching responsibilities for credit courses within the Air Conditioning Technology program. Instruction will include both lecture and laboratory activities and may involve Hybrid classes. The instructor will report to the Dean School of Industrial Technologies and Professional Services.
The instructor must possess the ability to:
- Teach all phases of the Air Conditioning curriculum
- Additional duties include developing instructional materials
- Evaluating students’ progress in achieving instructional goals and objectives
- Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the training area
- Provide professional instruction based on approved course syllabus
- Prepare curriculum for coursework taught
- Operate and maintain instructional equipment and trainers
- Deliver training by lecture, hands on, computer multi-media, online and text
- Maintain program certification requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university in Air Conditioning or a closely related field.
AND
Five of the last seven years of work experience in HVAC or a closely related field.
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills. A flexible work schedule is necessary, as classes will be taught during day and evening.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree is desirable.
A low voltage contractor’s license is desirable.
Experience in teaching/advising/mentoring college-level students with broad, diverse backgrounds is also desired.
