The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security. Managed network services include the state’s wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Artificial Intelligence Enablement Specialist supports the State of Georgia’s responsible adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) by assisting with AI program operations, agency enablement, and innovation lab activities. This role is designed for an emerging technology professional who combines strong operational discipline with hands-on experience using generative AI tools, workflow automation, and ethical AI practices.
The Specialist works closely with the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Horizons Innovation Lab staff, and agency partners to help translate AI policies, pilots, and training initiatives into practical, day-to-day execution. The role emphasizes reliability, documentation, coordination, and applied use of AI tools to improve productivity and public service delivery.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
AI Program Operations
· Support day-to-day operations of the Georgia AI Program, including coordination of pilot activities, meetings, training sessions, and agency engagements
· Assist in maintaining AI program documentation, intake materials, standard operating procedures, and internal knowledge bases
· Help track AI pilots, proofs of concept, and conditional approvals across agencies, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
· Provide logistical and technical support for AI-related events, workshops, demos, and innovation lab sessions
AI Enablement & Productivity Support
· Use generative AI tools to draft summaries, briefing materials, FAQs, training content, and internal communications
· Assist with prompt design and refinement to support research, policy analysis, and content drafting needs
· Apply AI tools to streamline administrative workflows such as document review, scheduling coordination, and information synthesis
· Support staff and agency partners in adopting AI tools responsibly for everyday productivity use cases.
Responsible AI & Governance Support
· Assist in documenting ethical considerations, risks, and guardrails for AI use cases in alignment with Georgia’s Responsible AI policies
· Help review AI use cases for basic compliance with governance guidelines, data handling expectations, and human oversight requirements
· Support development of plain-language guidance and training materials that help employees understand appropriate AI use
Innovation Lab & Agency Engagement
· Provide operational and technical support for Horizons Innovation Lab pilots and demonstrations
· Assist with onboarding agencies and vendors into structured AI experimentation processes
· Help gather feedback, document lessons learned, and support continuous improvement of AI pilots
· Support cross-functional collaboration between IT, program staff, and external partners

AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, data analytics, business administration, human resources, public administration, or a related field AND Two (2) years of experience supporting technology adoption, digital transformation, data analytics, AI tools, or process improvement initiatives WITH:
o Experience of artificial intelligence concepts, including generative AI, machine learning, and automation, with an emphasis on applied use rather than model development.
o Experience using generative AI tools for productivity, research, summarization, and drafting
o Knowledge of prompt engineering fundamentals and responsible AI concepts
o Experience translating technical concepts into clear, user-friendly guidance for non-technical audiences.
o Knowledge of data privacy, security principles, and ethical considerations related to technology use.
o Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and collaboration skills.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and job-specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience, and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: (Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience):
· Google AI Essentials Professional Certificate or similar applied AI training
· Experience supporting technology operations, troubleshooting systems, or digital workflows
· Familiarity with public sector environments, governance concepts, or compliance-oriented work
· Experience training others on tools, systems, or processes
· Interest in public service, digital transformation, and ethical technology adoption
COMPENSATION/WORKER TYPE/ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Office Location: 47 Trinity Ave, Atlanta GA
Worker Type: Hybrid – (in-office: 2-3 days per week)
Target Hiring Salary: $58,100 - $75,000
*Current Georgia state government employees will be subject to SPB rule provisions.
