Adjunct Instructor - Electrical Line Worker
Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Electrical Line Worker) position in the Industrial & Transportation Technology department in the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.
Under general supervision of the Dean of Industrial & Transportation Technology, the Adjunct Electrical Line Worker instructor provides instruction to students. This role requires a dedicated individual able to select and assess student learning outcomes, foster effective learning in both classroom and lab settings, and promote good public relations via contacts and regular communications with business, industry, and the public sector.
Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
· Assist with development and review of program and syllabi, goals and objectives according to approved curriculum and course syllabi standards.
· Evaluate and review students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
· Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate advisement records on each student.
· Demonstrate and ensure the use of appropriate and effective teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures (including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements).
· Display excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Maintain and review classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans.
· Maintain and review program certification requirements, as appropriate.
· Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
· Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
· Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
· Demonstrates knowledge of current practices in teaching field and/or related fields.
· Follows and enforces rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and
· Perform additional duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Extensive work experience as an electrical line worker in overhead and underground distribution construction and maintenance.
· Class A Commercial Driver’s License required.
· Must be able to instruct students and handle administrative responsibilities related to the position.
· Must be energetic, highly motivated, self-directed, open to new ideas and customer focused.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
