Adjunct Instructor - Automotive Technology
Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor (Automotive Technology) position in the Adult Education department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.
Under general supervision of the Dean of the Industrial & Transportation Technology department, the Adjunct Automotive Technology Instructor, is responsible for delivering education services to students through various resources and platforms. This is a part-time position, and it requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques.
Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
· Teach automotive technology repair courses in lecture and lab settings.
· Assist with curriculum development, recruitment and placement as requested.
· Attending program-related meetings as requested.
· Manage classroom by logging attendance, and reporting no-shows, assigning and reporting grades in a timely manner.
· Advise and counsel students and maintain appropriate advisement records on each student.
· Demonstrate the Ability to monitor students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
· Maintain professional qualifications as appropriate for the field and as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual.
· Follow rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual, and other policies and procedures established by the institution
· Support the mission and vision of the college, program and TCSG;
· This position may include teaching in the evenings or at satellite campuses; and
· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Ability to multi-task and perform administrative duties for class management.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent AND an automotive technology diploma from an accredited private or public postsecondary institution.
- One (1) of more years of paid technical experience.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse, adult learners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following:
- Associate’s degree in automotive technology repair.
- Diploma and three (3) years of documented work experience.
- Demonstrated familiarity or ASE certified with vehicle repair techniques such as engine repair, electrical & electronic systems repair, chassis repair transmission repair, climate control systems repair, etc.
- Teaching experience.
