Employment Terms: This job is a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA Exempt/Professional position in the Public and Professional Services Division that reports to the Program Director – FORD Program.

Salary: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum bases on contact hours taught.

Minimum Requirements (Job Code 10317): Technical diploma OR AAT/AS/AAS in discipline or closely related field. ASE Certifications as appropriate, minimum of G1 and A6. Three (3) years of the past seven (7) years of experience in-field or teaching experience. Valid driver's license.

 Note: Four years of experience may substitute for two years of education, e.g. AS degree or diploma

Preferred Qualifications:  Postsecondary teaching experience. ASE Master Technician. FORD Master Technician. Must Have level two training in at least two Current skill areas in FORD Training Academy.

Certain positions are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Refusal to take the test or a positive result will lead to separation and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment. 

Additionally, for any employment offer that includes a required drug test, the test must be completed within 48 hours. Failure to comply will result in the offer being rescinded and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment

 

Job Description:  Prepares and delivers lecture and/or lab course material. Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for FORD courses. Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior. Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately. Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts. If offered a position, employees in this department must complete the Hazardous Materials Training annually.

1.       Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for specified courses.

  • Organize and conduct classes using a variety of learning experiences and activities.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students.
  • Demonstrate current and comprehensive knowledge of the subject areas to be taught.
  • Accurately and timely submit required reports.

2.       Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.

  • Communicates students’ progress to student and appropriate personnel and according to established guidelines.
  • Accurately records pertinent information in students’ records as required.

3.       Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.

  • Complies and submits reports in a timely manner.

4.       Displays a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates trustworthiness and responsible behavior.

  • Works within the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; shows flexibility in response to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures.

  • Works when scheduled; begins and ends work as expected; calls in according to policy when arriving late for when or when absent; observes provisions of Fair Labor Standards Act; uses work time appropriately.

6.       Assists with recruitment retention and job placement efforts.

  • Actively participates in the retention efforts of the school.

7.       Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Gwinnett Technical College.

·         May be required to act as a Campus Security Authority; Completing all responsibilities and trainings that go along with the initiative.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
