OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

Although focused primarily on the enforcement of traffic laws and investigation of traffic crashes, the Department of Public Safety will support the efforts of all public safety agencies to reduce crime, apprehend those who commit them, and respond to natural and manmade disasters. Testing Specialist (Full-Time)

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Testing Specialist (Full-Time) position in the Economic Development division. This position is located at both Atlanta Technical College’s main and south campuses, located just south of Downtown Atlanta.

 

 

Under general supervision of the Testing Center Coordinator, the Testing Specialist (Full-Time) will be responsible for providing testing and training services to customers, and maintains necessary certification and/or licenses.  This position will also be responsible for coordinating logistics for sessions; ensuring that the facility area is scheduled and all equipment is prepared as needed. The Testing specialist (F/T) oversees the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of software computer system; researches and analyzes program/operation data; generates regular and hoc statistical and information reports to supervisor and all pertinent staff; and maintains budget records for the program and assists in monitoring expenditures.

 

 

Job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:

 

· Proctors various academic, distance learning, and nationally recognized college exams to ensure test security.

· Creates and maintains assessment databases.

· Performs data entry of students’ scores into appropriate student database system.

· Maintains appropriate test administrator certifications.

· Oversees exam software installation, maintenance, and upgrades.

· Registers students for academic based exams.

·Monitors daily exam schedule.

· Maintains exam files.

· Prepares and sends corresponds to other colleges, instructors, and testing agents.

·Communicates exam scores to test examinees.

·Advises of students on test scores, next steps, and registration.

· Creates site, incident and irregularity reports.

· Develops assessment training materials.

· Performs additional duties as assigned.

 

Competencies:

 

·Knowledge of various assessments and testing workstations including Accuplacer, Pearson Vue, HiSET, CLEP, Comira, Grace Professional, HESI, Kryterion, NCCT, POST, PSB, TEAS, Georgia Pest Control, etc.

·Utilize good problem-solving and decision-making skills and maintains confidentiality about tests and examinees.

·Work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

·Good oral, written communication and organizational skills.

·Skill in operation of computers and job-related software programs.

· Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.

· Ability to provide instruction to others one the use of equipment or processes.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Must possess and demonstrate an Associate’s degree AND Three (3) years of work-related experience.
