OVERVIEW

The Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS) employs approximately 1600 employees and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Capitol Police and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division (MCCD). GSP troopers investigate traffic crashes and enforce traffic and criminal laws on the state's roads. Capitol Police officers prevent and detect criminal acts and enforce traffic regulations throughout Capitol Hill. MCCD officers conduct safety inspections of commercial motor vehicles and inspect highway shipments of hazardous materials.

Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Admin Support 3/Program Assistant with the Food Service Department. This is a full-time position with State benefits and will work 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Job Description

This position will serve as liaison between the program/administrative/technical operation of the Food Service Department, program management and Adult Mental Health individuals. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs time keeping and leave keeping for all department staff
  • Disburses information, researches and analyzes daily operations data
  • Provides training and assistance to all staff in the Food Service Department
  • Monitors and maintains supplies for the department, periodically ordering materials from outside vendors
  • Maintains a high-performance environment by demonstrating positive leadership and a strong team orientation
  • Attends seminars, conferences, job-related training and other staff development training programs
  • Operates multi-line phone system, taking and distributing messages as needed
  • Responsible for daily desk operations for the department, including filing, scheduling new hire interviews and managers’ appointments, creating/maintaining Excel spreadsheets for reports, and securing all important documents

 

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to State minimum qualifications, preference will be given to those applicants who possess some or all of the following skills/experience:

  • At least Four years of experience in performing general office work, including duties such as secretarial, clerical, clerical, business management, and record keeping
  • Excellent computer skills and use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and creation of spreadsheets
  • Timekeeping experience and excellent phone etiquette / customer service skills
  • Kronos experience a plus but not required.

Employment Requirements
